A person in Texas just missed a wonderful New Year’s gift.  The person or persons who had bought the winning ticket for the Jan.1 Lotto Texas draw have just let their ticket go past the redemption period without making a claim.  The $12 million prize will now benefit Texas schools.

The ticket had been sold at the South Shore Shell at 3390 FM 518 in League City.  The $12 million prize had a $7,562,273.98 single payment cash value, which expired after the 180-day claim period.

One sure winner is the Shell station which sold the winning entry.  The store received a bonus of $121,385.34 on March 6, despite the jackpot being unclaimed.
