You can call Maryjane Hart of Doniphan, Missouri, a new kind of  “self-made millionaire”.

Maryjane, who works as a convenience store clerk and pharmacy technician, wanted to join the lottery fever that gripped the US in the week leading to the recent $590.5 million Powerball jackpot so she sold herself a ticket.

As luck would have it, someone else won the huge jackpot, but Maryjane does not go home empty-handed; her entry matched five numbers drawn (but not the powerball), earning her a cool a million dollars.
