A Winner In A Fraud Case

A winner of a £90,000 jackpot kept his winnings in a bank account, and failed to declare this asset while claiming for Job Seekers Allowance in 2008.

The man claimed that though he knew he was over the limit on capital, he did not consider his lottery winnings as part of his savings, and believes he should not have to declare it.  He was found to have been overpaid more than £12,000 and penalized by the courts.
