Vietnam now has its own American-style lottery. The state run Vietlott, which runs the lottery, received an 18-year license to operate a computerized 6/45 lottery game in January.
No one won the jackpot in the first six-number draw held last Wednesday. The top prize is a minimum of VND 12 billion ($535,000) and there are a host of other consolation prized of up to VND ten million for those who post 3, 4 and 5 number matches. The top prize is awarded to ticket who match 6 numbers drawn from a pool containing the numbers 1 to 45.
