Another Big EuroMillions Win Goes To The UK

Friday’s jumbo jackpot has been confirmed as another big win for a UK ticket holder.

The jackpot which had climbed to reach it’s cap, was successfully claimed over the weekend by a couple living in Suffolk.

For now the winners names have not been released as EuroMillions are believed to be arranging a full press release with the couple on Tuesday. The couple will collect a payment of £148.6 Million.

It’s a shame to see such a large jackpot again being claimed by just one winner. The amended roll down rule allows for the full jackpot sum to be paid across multiple 2nd prize winners. But this only happens if nobody matches all the winning numbers on the final roll down draw. We think EuroMillions should work harder to spread such big prizes between more winners.

The previous big sole UK winners were the Weir’s from Scotland, who received £161 Million. The newest winners actually won more than the Weir’s in Euros but due to the current exchange rates will actually receive less.

A spokesman for the UK National Lottery said this was now the 7th EuroMillions jackpot winner in the UK this year alone, claiming prizes totalling more than £404 Million.
