A couple from Weston-super-Mare are feeling blessed after winning almost £1.2 million on the National Lottery. Paul Newton describes the feeling as both extraordinary and amazing.
As soon as Newton received the notification on his iPhone, he found an excuse to go home to tell his wife that now they can clear the mortgage on their home with about a million to spare. They have since given money to the three children they have between them so all of them can clear their mortgages.
Newton, who places his entries online so there is no chance he would win and lose the ticket, says he is buying a new iPhone. The couple plan to continue working and playing the lottery.
