Facebook Lottery Syndicate Bags £1.1 Million

About two and a half years ago Gary Schei of East Linton in East Lothian decided it would be more fun to play the lottery in a syndicate.  So he messaged friends, family, neighbors and other acquaintances all over the country via facebook asking them if they wanted to join his lottery syndicate.

In all 38 people joined the syndicate which came to be known as “Gary’s Players.”  All the time they have been playing together, the rest of the world were not even aware a facebook syndicate existed; until now.  The 38-strong syndicate just bagged £1.1 million in a EuroMillions draw.

There was lots of joyous reaction from all over the country, including parents for whom a member has bought shares in the syndicate.  By now news of their good fortune would have spread – through facebook of course!
