A friend advised Chris Vice to buy some lottery tickets because the jackpot had grown to $500 million. After watching his friend buy five tickets, Vice decided to heed the advice and bought some for himself.
Neither Vice nor his friend won $500 million, but one Match 5 ticket Vice had bought won a million dollar jackpot. That is about $712,500 net of federal and state taxes. He now plans to buy equipment for a construction company he co-owns, start a retirement fund, and set aside part of the winnings for his children’s education.
