Jacob Lackey of the family owned Lackey Woodworking purchased a $10 ‘Lucky For Life’ instant ticket and won the grand prize of $6.5 million dollars.  Jacob had purchased the lucky ticket at Steve’s Union Service another family owned business.

And it seems that the jackpot was really meant for Jacob, as there is a story to his ticket purchase.  The store has a vending machine and from time to time the cashier would vend out more tickets than customers ask for.  Four such tickets waiting to be sold to clients sat on the store counter for days.  When only three were left, the clerk thought of buying all of them but decided to just take one.  Jacob bought the winning ticket from the remaining two.

Jacob says he’ll use the money to pay bills and for home repairs.  With a choice of a $3 million lump sum and $5,000 a week for 25 years, he certainly can afford that and much more.  The store gets a $32,500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
