Rick Cerezo, who found a $4.85 million winning Illinois Lottery ticket in a kitchen cookie jar, is set to appear on the “Katie” show featuring Katie Couric. The show, which will feature other lottery winners, entitled “Life After The Lottery” is set to air Monday at 3 p.m, on ABC.
Cerezo’s story became famous when people learned that a daughter who had died of illness at age 14 had given the cookie jar where the winning lottery ticket was found. When interviewed afterward, Cerezo is quoted as saying “We knew who was behind it.”
What makes the story more interesting is that prior to the win, the Cerezo’s were about to lose their home in Geneva to foreclosure.
