A lucky person from Maryland won half of a $414 million lottery jackpot.  The winner requested to remain anonymous, so the lottery did not release the person’s name and did not publish any smiling winner’s photo.

The lucky person from Maryland won on the March 18 draw along with a couple from Florida.  Both winners opted to receive their winnings in a single pre-tax sum of $115.5 million.  The Maryland winner was able to take home $76.4 million after taxes were deducted.

The winner shared that people who like to win have to play, and that she may have won because she played her ‘lucky’ numbers.  Lady’s Liquors at La Plata earned a bonus of $100,000 for selling the winning Maryland ticket.
