Premier Lotteries Ireland (PLI)has announced an increase in the cost playing the National Lottery from €3 to €4. The playing format will also change from the current 45 numbers to a total of 47. Both changes are effective next month.
After the changes the odds of correctly picking all 6 numbers drawn will be 1 in 10.7 million, instead of the current 1 in about 8 million. The changes will also include enhanced payouts for smaller prizes with a five number and a bonus ball match winning €100,000. The new winning odds is also expected to result in bigger rollover jackpots.
