An SAS soldier is the latest £1 million winner of the lotto.  The unnamed soldier has sworn friends and family to secrecy since landing the big windfall last December.

Sandra Hernandez regularly bought instant tickets from the Amigos Food Market at the corner of Church and Cedar avenues in southeast Fresno.  The store is considered lucky having sold tickets which won up to a couple of thousand dollars. 

For years Deanne Jakoubek dreamed of winning the lottery like other players have; ironically, Jakoubek works in a bank where she gets to see lots of money, though not her own. 

This week a woman won $5 million minutes after her mother told her she would win a lot of money, and three friends will share a huge $291 million jackpot from a ticket they bought while on vacation.

At the pharmacy last February 14th, Joyce Denrenzis felt the urge to play the $5 Wheel of Fortune Game so she bought two.  Her mother, thinking her birthday was Feb.

By now most of us are familiar with many of the tactics employed by people who want to win lottery jackpots. Some faithfully use sets of “lucky” number combinations, some rely on dreams, still other people use loved ones’ birthdays, a few use gut feeling, and some claim to have their own “system” for choosing number combinations.

Robert Keefe of Manchester never missed a lottery draw, always using the same number combination derived from birthdays.  His latest purchase was for a Lucky For Life ticket for eight draws from Feb.

A lorry driver who always believed he would win finally did so after 21 years of playing.  He won £1 million and a South African luxury vacation trip.
