Michael Lally always buys five lottery tickets per week.  He bought the usual number on Saturday, then spent the weekend with his mother to celebrate her birthday and helping a friend with vehicle issues.

The shock of a big win came Monday after getting his ticket checked at a local store.  He had correctly bet on the Powerball’s first five numbers, and just missed out on the sixth Powerball number.

The $2 million win, $1.4 million after taxes, now assures his son’s college education, and will fund some investments.
