Powerball Frenzy – 7 Weeks No Winner

The US is now officially brewing up a lottery storm.

With the Powerball rolling over yet again on Saturday, the jackpot is now heading rapidly heading northwards of $305 Million.

This now makes 7 weeks without a jackpot winner for Powerball – not particularly surprising when you consider that the US Powerball is one of the hardest games in the world to win. It’s even twice as hard as Mega Millions once you take into account the ticket price.

Although it may seem a vast jackpot, it’s actually currently sitting only around the 15th largest ever. It looks positively modest even compared to the astronomical Mega Millions jackpot of $656 Million in March this year.

But thankfully some prize money is finding it’s back out of the Powerball lottery. There were five winners of the $1 Million prize, who are probably all suffering extreme shock after seeing how close they came to the jumbo jackpot.
