Spring cleaning requirements have lead a couple who operate a pub to a huge lotto jackpot prize!
Were your typical pub landlord and landlady – working long hours and never seeming to be able to take a day off. But as the pub’s carpets were a bit dirty, Nick sent it to the cleaners. It was when he took the carpets back when he decided to buy Euromillions lottery tickets on the way back. That turned out to be a really good decision.
After lunch the day after the draw, Nick was checking lottery results when he noticed that the Millionaire Raffle Code matched! They were suddenly millionaires! They were so stunned they took time to walk their dog in the woods to have time for their heads to clear. But the pub still opened as usual that day.
They have since decided to give up the lease on the pub after 6 more months – they cannot work 100 hour weeks anymore and they really don’t need to now. There are also plans to buy a house, travel and maybe buy a car.
