Salesman’s $2 Extra Bet Returns $1 Million

A large $217 million jackpot tempted Streamwood salesman  Larry Szpajer to bet another $2 on a lucky pick Powerball ticket for the Illinois Lottery.  A day later, he and his wife found themselves $1 million richer as the first five numbers of the lucky pick ticket matched those in the draw.

The Citgo store where he purchased the winning ticket won $100,000.

Now they plan to use the $700k in winnings (after taxes), for debt payments, investments and a bit of travel.
