Imagine the moment a man who’s down on his luck receives word he’s about to receive a million dollar bonus from the lottery. View the emotional moment here.

A lung disease diagnosis six months ago devastated a California store owner. But the Alberre family came together and his son Mathew soon came to operate the store in his father’s absence. Still there was a lot of difficulty as their father’s medical treatments are far from inexpensive. And that was when the lottery came to the rescue – the Powerball lottery that is.

Their luck came courtesy of a $447 million lottery jackpot. But no, they did not win it. Their store, the Marietta Liquor & Deli in Sun City, just happened to sell the winning ticket, but that is good enough for them to earn a $1 million bonus. Mathew says he immediately cried upon learning of their luck. Now they don’t have to worry about money for his dad’s treatments.

The whole family turned up to receive their bonus and they even posted a huge sign out front saying they sold a $447 million winner.
