The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation celebrated their 10th anniversary with a short program at their headquarters in Nashville.
During the program the lottery took pride in having raised more than $2.91 billion for education in the state. They also happily reported having sold a total of more than $11 billion in tickets, with $6.8 billion having been paid out as prizes. Of those, 131 tickets won at least a million dollars, the most recent of which was the one which scooped a $61 million jackpot from the Mega Millions.
A new logo was also unveiled, as well as advertisements showing Hope scholars who benefited from lottery’s education fund. Lottery officials also thanked the public for its support that saw a 5.9% increase in sales last fiscal year.
