The Texas Lottery says it will remove the Fun Five’s scratchoff card from circulation.  The move came as about 300 players complained of ambiguous wording on the cards that lead to confusion.

The fifth game on the card says said scratching off three fives in a row would win the prize amount in the prize box.  A second sentence says “Reveal a money bag symbol in the 5x box, win five times that prize.”   Players contend the sentences are unrelated and fulfilling one of the conditions is enough for a win.  Lottery officials say both conditions need to be fulfilled before a prize is won.

Some players plan to sue either the Texas Lottery or the manufacturer of the scratch cards.
