Vietnamese Lotto Player Wins $2.9 Million

Vietnam’s state-owned lottery company Vietlott has just given away its second grand prize.  The winner is a man from Dong Nai who has asked to remain anonymous.

The lucky player won prize of VND 64.8 billion (US$2.9 million) and gets to keep the equivalent of US$2.6 million after taxes.  Due to the size of the jackpot, the player even wore a mask as he received his check, in a ceremony Vietlott kept secret.  Only the winner’s picture wearing a mask, an abbreviated name, and province of residence will be released to the public.
