Will You Keep Your Job When You Win The Lottery?

Apparently 54% of Irish workers would keep their job even after winning a lottery jackpot.

The survey conducted by Peninsula Ireland, an employment law consultants, not only showed that most people would keep working – but that 45% would keep going until they reached retirement age.

MD Alan Price said he found it admirable that so many would keep working even after a lottery win.

There is of course more to your working life than money. Some people do enjoy their jobs, and have many friends in their working environment.

And indeed, a sense of satisfaction and achievement were cited as reasons for continuing to work.

Although a jackpot lottery win does allow your work to become whatever you want it to be.

Some lottery winners choose a path of volunteer or charity work instead. Whilst others have even set up their own charitable trusts effectively becoming the charity themselves for direct involvement with the people they wish to help.

Would you keep your job if you won the lottery? Would you stay to retirement age?

I quite enjoy my job, but frankly I’d be gone in a flash if I won the lotto :-). I’d still see my work mates in the pub, and just travel the world.
