It is uplifting whenever a blue collar worker wins a significant lottery jackpot. Machine operator Mickey Pruitt’s win is one example of a simple man winning a life-changing amount.
His visit at a supermarket was routine, until he decided to visit the lottery tickets section. His first lottery ticket purchase gave him a $30 win, so he kept $20 and bought two $5 tickets which again won $10. It was when he used that last win to buy a $10 ticket he won a million dollars. He took a lump sum payment of more than $400,000 net of taxes.
Now he says he will buy a house and a truck. And he plans to take his wife on a honeymoon they can now afford.
