When retired BT engineer Bernie Delbridge discovered that his Euromillions ticket won big money, he was quick to attribute it to his late wife who had always believed they would win a big jackpot. Matching five numbers and a lucky star to bag a £241,406.80 prize qualifies as a big jackpot
However, the night he bought the ticket from a petrol station, he decided to go for a lucky dip instead of their usual number. That lucky dip was what gave him the jackpot. Now Delbridge wants to go on a safari adventure with his youngest daughter. He also plans to help his other children and other relatives.
