Calif. Student Wins $1 Milliion

Lady luck has visited a 21-year old college student from Valencia named Lindsay Sharbutt.  She initially thought the instant ticket she had won a $1,000 prize and was excitedly planning to pay off credit card debts.  But she was floored when she realized that it was really a full million dollars that she had won.

Lindsay says she will continue living as if she had not won the money.  In fact she went right back to work the day after she won, and plans to keep her job.  She wants to treat her brother to a first class flight home when he finishes his Navy stint in the Middle East.  She has also contacted a charity working with cancer victims.

She netted $650,000 after taxes were deducted.
