Joseph Zagami almost threw away the win of a lifetime, literally that is. He and his wife had bought lottery tickets at a supermarket, put it in a bag and promptly forgot about it. Somehow the bag with the lottery ticket ended up in the trash.
Blessings, however, find its way back to people it has chosen. When Joseph asked his wife Joanne if she had scratched the ticket and she answered in the negative, the couple dug through the trash to find it. The ticket they recovered revealed a $1 million jackpot win.
The lucky couple chose to receive a lump sum of $650,000 before taxes, instead of the full million dollars paid over a 20-year period.
