A man from Winchester Bay named David Lane bought a Cash Flurries scratch-off ticket from the Oregon Lottery and proceeded to scratch off 24 snow flurries, then stopped.  What his scratches have revealed was already good for a $1,000 prize, so he proceeded to mail the ticket in to collect the prize.

When lottery officials checked his ticket, they found a huge discrepancy between the amount Lane put in the claim form and the actual prize amount.  Turns out Lane should have finished scratching the card to reveal one more snow flurry that makes his prize money a hundred times more – a cool $100,000.

When lottery officials contacted Lane, he thought that he had not won anything after all.  He was shocked to learn of the real amount, and advises other player to finish scratching each ticket.
