Malcom and Claire Sills and their friends Martin and Claire Tait, all from Stockton had wanted to use £40 they won on a scratchcard, while they were on a night out, towards dinner. 

A combination of family members’ birthdays and some old lotto numbers proved lucky for Robin and Christine Kiddie, of Ludlow; they won £6.3 million in the February 28, 2013 draw of the UK Lotto.

A large $217 million jackpot tempted Streamwood salesman  Larry Szpajer to bet another $2 on a lucky pick Powerball ticket for the Illinois Lottery.  A day later, he and his wife found themselves $1 million richer as the first five numbers of the lucky pick ticket matched those in the draw.
