A group of pensioners from Swansea on a day trip to Yorkshire had a bit more fun than they imagined after a their syndicated lottery bets won £25 for having three numbers and £20,000 on the raffle. Each of the 42 pensioners will pocket £476.
Abertawe Travel, in a family-run company in Port Tennant, usually brings passengers for day trips to different parts of the country. The passengers betting as a syndicate is not unusual, but for them to win such a significant amount is rather exceptional.
For the price of 42 lucky dips, 42 people walked away from their day tour with significantly fuller pockets.
