Erroneous TV Announcement Of Easy Five Lottery Creates Confusion

In yet another story about lottery errors, the show that airs the results for the Louisiana Lottery Corporation erred in the posting of winning numbers.  The state lottery informed all bettors that the correct winning combination for the July 24 draw of the Easy Five Lottery Game was 4-7-31-35-36.  The show had inadvertently announced a “5” instead of a “4” as part of the winning combination.

Lottery officials were quick to apologize for any inconvenience it has caused, but stood by its rules that the audited winning numbers, which it had correctly posted in its own website, constituted the official results of the draw.

While lottery officials may be right in accordance with the rules, still, it might have been better PR for lottery officials to have considered both digits.
