London based Patrick Bomboi Emuh, 54, scammed £800,000 from innocent victims over a period of 6 years.

He claimed they had won non-existent lottery prizes then charged them ‘fees’ to help them claim the winnings.

Still protesting his innocence, he was sentenced to 6 years in prison. A small victory but valuable victory for police.

Never believe any email or phone call that claims you have won a prize but must pay to receive. If it’s genuine you will never be required to pay any fees at any stage.

If you or anyone you know need further information you can read more about it on the UK’s Action Fraud site here.
