On Friday Allen Hudaifa, 57, of Houston, was charged with claiming a lottery prize by fraud.

He tried to cash in a scratch off ticket back in February 2010. The prize would have been a rather nice $1,000 per week for 20 years.

George Flynn, spokesman for the District Attorney’s office said:

Some of the numbers were changed around. Two of them were secured with Scotch tape.

According to officials, during interview with investigators Mr Hudaifa denied he had done anything wrong.

So today’s lottery tip is:-
If you don’t win, maybe buy another ticket. But don’t try and make a winning one out of scotch tape and bits of old losing tickets 😉
