For a shift manager from Bo’ness, the secret to lottery success lay in playing the same number combination every week for the last 11 years. Philip Dunning was stunned when his persistence was finally rewarded in Saturday’s draw to the tune of £7,864,529.
He and his partner Gina were about to turn in early when a friend they’d asked to check their numbers on the TV called to inform them they had won. That call resulted in a sleepless night for the couple as they awaited the official results online.
Dunning says the magnitude of their win has not sunk in yet, but he and his partner have already decided to buy a new home and a new car. Then they can take their time thinking of the ways they can enjoy the rest of their winnings.
