A man from Glen Burnie, only stopped at a High’s convenience store in West Friendship on his way home to get a snack a drink and a ticket for the Aug. 4 draw of the Mega Millions lottery. He had his fill and promptly forgot about his ticket.
After learning from a TV broadcast that a winning ticket was sold at the store he bought his from, he decided to check. It was then he found out he had matched 5 balls and just missed the mega ball – he had won a million dollars. As he had played a lottery winner prank on his wife sometime back, his initial call was not believed.
The 51-year old man, who wishes to remain anonymous, will use the money to pay off debts and to save for retirement.
