The Pennsylvania Lottery had advised more than 5 million homes which received ticket coupons earlier this month to discard them and use the ones arriving this week. The previous coupons have been reported to contain a glitch which prevented them getting scanned at retail outlets. The third party printer responsible for the error covered the re-printing.
The Pennsylvania Lottery apologized to affected players and retailers for the inconvenience the bug on the ticket has caused. As a gesture of goodwill, the ticket coupons for May will arrive along with a bonus coupon for the month of June.
The new coupons started arriving at affected households on Wednesday.
