In a particularly unusual draw result on Saturday, for the 2nd prize winner at least, the UK Lotto is about to pay out less to the jackpot winner than to the Match 5 plus Bonus Ball prize.
The jackpot does actually total £4.8 Million, but with 5 tickets all sharing the prize each will receive £968,272. Not that any of those will be complaining of course.
In contrast however the 2nd prize winner will receive a cheque for £1,489,649.
A Lotto spokesperson said it was a most unusual occurrence, but of course the bottom line is there are 6 big winners.
