The first big winner in the ‘Right On The Money’ game from the Virginia Lottery has been announced.

Thomas Wurtz from Christiansburg is a Vietnam war veteran. He’s also now $1 Million better off.

He actually opted for the lump sum prize instead of the 25 year annuity, so will receive $645,000 before tax. Thomas said:-

I knew immediately, instantly that it was a $1 million winner.

But he’s not sure yet what he is going to do with the prize money.

The Right On The Money game launched on 9th August. It’s a $20 scratch off game with 6 top prizes of $2.5 Million, and 10 of $1 Million.

Thomas got his winning ticket from Prices Fork BP in Blacksburg, who also get a $10,000 bonus as a store that sold a winner.
