Most people who receive a call in the wee hours of the morning generally become so upset, their mates often describe them as having woken from the wrong side of the bed. But there was no such thing when Heather received a call from her father Derrick Morrow at 2 in the morning. After all, the call was to share the good news that they had won £219,000 on the lottery.
Father and daughter had been betting on the same combination since their syndicate started 18 months ago but it was a ticket bought on Friday from a Nisa newsagent near Heather’s home in east Hull, which game them the big payout.
Former lorry and taxi driver Derrick now plans to purchase a Victory custom motorbike and a Vauxhall Insignia. Single mom Heather, who works at customer service at npower, plans to take son Zak on a trip to Disneyland France, then purchase her own home.
