This was not a typical day in the unemployment queues.
Spain has been suffering severe economic problems for a number of years now, something that is no stranger to the ever increasing lines of unemployed Spanish people.
But this day proved a little different, with a glimmer of hope brought to 1,500 Spaniards in the Costa del Sol.
The ‘Yo Producto Andaluz’ association visited a homeless shelter, a retirement home and the unemployment lines to hand out 1,500 free tickets for the Loteria de Navidad, Spain’s gigantic Christmas El Gordo lottery game.
If their lucky number comes up, 11946, then every recipient of a free ticket will collect €20,000.
