You can say Gladys Salzwedel, of Oakley, Michigan is twice lucky. First her Mega Millions entry managed to match all five white balls drawn on the Oct. 27 draw, and then also because she had purchased an optional multiplier. That multiplied the $1 million prize by a factor of 5 and instantly made her $5 million richer.
The winner shares that she regularly plays both Powerball and Mega Millions Lottery regularly. While she had time to check her Powerball tickets, she wasn’t able to immediately check the Mega Millions. But a week or so later, she heard a Mega Millions winner had been sold in their area and asked her husband to check. When he said she’d won, tears of joy flowed.
Her immediate plans include retirement, a trip to the south, paying off all her bills and sharing with the family and her church.
