After playing the lottery since it started in Tennessee way back in 2004, Benjamin Pendergrass was due for some return on investment. Much to his surprise, one Powerball ticket matched 5 numbers drawn – so he thought he might have won $400,000.
He was delighted to learn later that the prize was actually 2 million dollars – a million multiplied by two because he paid a dollar for the ‘Power Play’ option. Now he is looking forward to buying a teacup pig for his granddaughter, a motorcycle for his stepfather, and paying off the mortgage in his home.
He has consulted with financial advisers but has not made a decision about the rest of the money; so in the meantime he plans to continue working.
