Blessings come to us in different ways. For a Muskegon man, it took a cancelled flight to lead him to lottery riches.

After a business trip, Paul Kuharevicz had planned to fly home. But when the flight out of O’Hare was cancelled, he had no choice but to drive home on a rented car. As he got home, however, he remembered that he had left his bike at work and went out to retrieve it. That was when he passed by a Ladd’s and decided to buy a Mega Millions ticket.

Next morning, he was surprised when his son advised him to check his ticket as a million dollar winner had been sold at Ladd’s. He then found out that his ticket had matched all five numbers drawn and just missed the mega ball. But that’s good enough for a million  dollar payout!

Now he plans to fulfill his promise to his wife that she can retire if he ever won the lottery. With the rest of the money he wants to buy a new bicycle, pay off his home, and make some investments.
