Larry Dawson, 58, became one of the luckiest men in Iowa this week, when he claimed a $9.1 Million jackpot on Iowa Lottery’s Hot Lotto.
He was joined by wife Kathy, four children and ten grandchildren at the lottery HQ in Grand Avenue, Des Moines when they announced the news.
Lucky Larry as he is apparently known for his ludicrous luck on the golf course, said:
I am a little guy, but I am a big dreamer.
Although he apparently plans to spend most of the prize money expanding his financial services business.
I’m not sure that would be the best advice for a financial advisor who bought a ‘secrets to winning the lottery’ book 3 months ago – it may have been better to keep that guilty little secret filed under ‘should know better’.
Perhaps Larry could rename the company ‘Plain Lucky Financial Services’, that should pull in the punters.
Vice President of the Iowa Lottery, Mary Neubauer, said the $9.1 Million win was actually the 12th largest ever seen in 26 years of the Iowa Lottery.
The winning ticket was bought at the Doc’s Stop in Webster City. The Hot Lotto results for Saturday 7th May were 9 12, 16, 25, 29 and 9 with a ‘Sizzler’ of 3.
