The odds of winning a lottery jackpot is so small that many of us play without really expecting to win. An Ingleside man neglected his tickets for two full weeks before having them checked.
When Leon Haskin had his ticket checked at the store, the machine made loud noises. Store owner Vehbi Erdagi then told Haskin to go to the lottery’s Austin office. He was later advised he had won a second-tier prize of $5 million, after matching five numbers drawn but not the mega ball. No word yet on what he plans to do with the money.
