This early lots of kids have already tasted a bit of Christmas cheer as a lottery-winning bin man helped distribute gifts to 120 of them at the Lagan Village Youth & Community Centre.
Stephen Inglis had shared a £70,000 National Lottery Scratchcard windfall last August with colleague Frank McCourt. Now the lucky man decided to give back by donning a Santa suit and helping distribute gifts this Christmas.
Inglis describes the moment he saw the children’s faces light up at the sight of sacks of toys “something special.” The Lagan Village Youth & Community Centre also received a £5,000 donation from the Big Lottery Fund for the Christmas party. The lucky man is all praises for the Lagan Village Youth & Community Centre for making such a big difference in the lives of children in the area.
The founder of the Lagan Village Youth & Community Centre, George Newell, says it is their organization’s aim to help enhance the social and environmental welfare of a wide range of people in the community. He thanked Inglis for the toys and acknowledged the support of volunteers from the community.
