A man from Tauranga in New Zealand almost missed his chance at becoming instantly wealthy.
On checking his ticket for the Big Wednesday draw, the man (who chose to remain anonymous) decided he had not won.
But after a publicity campaign to try and find the missing winner of the jumbo $27 Million jackpot in Tauranga, he did a double take and decided to re-check his ticket.
It was a particularly wise decision as it turned out he must have checked the wrong days results. He had almost thrown away a ticket worth $27 Million.
The win was made all the more fortuitous as he had only bought the ticket using money he had in his pocket for a haircut. The hairdresser just happened to be closed.
