Almost 35 years of taking chances playing the lottery finally paid off for Gatineau resident Marc Lachance.  He won a staggering $25 million 6/49 Lotto prize.

Most of us will start thinking about what to do with all that money, but for Lachance it was not a hard decision. The minute he learned of his win, he immediately said that his brother and sisters will be happy. The lucky man has decided to share his winnings with a brother and two sisters. It was no surprise since he has always said that he will share with his siblings if he wins.

The siblings live in  different parts of Quebec, with currently unemployed Marc living with and taking care of their mother; maybe his win is a sort of a reward for taking care of his parent. But all four siblings are excited and still in a state of disbelief. They have beaten 1 in almost 14 million odds to win the prize.

Lachance bought the winning ticket from Couche-Tard in Gatineau.  The outlet will receive a bonus of 1% of the  prize – $250,000 – just for selling the winning ticket.
