Two men beat odds of 21,846,048 to 1 to be the first grand prize winners of the Cash4Life game in New Jersey. Joseph Ianiro and John Opaluch of Hasbrouck Heights won a $1,000 a day for life jackpot.
It was Ianiro who bought the ticket from Nick’s Quick Stop on Boulevard. He was also the one who learned of their win while watching television. The two men later opted to receive a lump sum payment of about seven million dollars, which taxes will eventually reduce to about 5 million.
And the winning formula for these guys? They play regularly, and they played as a syndicate.
