A popular postman from Cork won half of the €14Million Irish Lotto jackpot on Saturday.
Pat Broderick from Kinsale is a father of four, and husband of Mary. He’s also one of the best known people around the town. And as one local said:
It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy – everyone here is thrilled at the news.
Friends of the family say they are both still a bit shocked right now at their good news, but they think the first thing Pat will do is whisk the family away for a holiday.
It’s thought that Pat may well want to keep his job too, as he has such great contact with all the community around Kinsale.
And he did still show up for work on Monday. But after all, someone has to get those letters out.
