There are many advantages to playing the lottery through a syndicate, the most obvious being an increase in the chances of winning; there are also supposedly more sets of eyes to check the entries. Despite that, a syndicate composed of 25 people working for the NY city failed to discover a million dollar win for months.
Maybe the workers were too focused on work or maybe, like many other people, they never really expected to win big. It took one member getting a stack of tickets checked for them to discover the 2nd prize win in the March 31 draw.
They are elated by the win but split 25 ways, it is not enough for them to retire on. Their holiday celebrations will be more fun though!
